“Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.”
Proverbs 13:3 NIV
This is a major principle of my life. I am a firm believer of being slow to speak and quick to listen. Particularly in emotional, heated moments. If our president followed this principal we’d be a lot better off. It seems Twitter has made this principle all the more true. How many have lost there jobs because of a poor judgement to say something rashly without thinking.
While I am generally ok with controlling my tongue, it is actually with Anna that I find myself speaking rashly the most. I get impatient with her at times. My words have hurt her and made small conflicts bigger. For this I need God’s grace. Pray for me to be a good husband who guards my lips.
